- What is TweetSwitch ?
TweetSwitch is a free service that allows you to tweet and receive your tweets from any instant messenger or via email. TweetSwitch is a web service so you do not need to install any new applications. You simply log-in to our website using your Twitter account, and configure the way you want to send and receive your messages.
- How do I choose how to receive my messages ?
First, you need to add the accounts on which you would like to receive your tweets.
Then, you need to configure the accounts using the 1-2-3 boxes. To do this, you simply drag and drop your accounts into the boxes.
Your tweets will be sent to any accounts you put in Box 1.
If your tweets can't be delivered to Box 1 (e.g. if you are offline), the message will be redirected to Box 2.
If your tweets can't be delivered to Box 2, TweetSwitch will deliver them to Box 3.
- What platforms are supported?
TweetSwitch currently supports AIM, Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, Skype and gTalk. In addition we support all email providers.
We are constantly adding new delivery channels so keep checking the website for details.
- Can I receive my tweets via SMS?
Not yet, but hopefully soon.
- Can I tweet from my instant messenger?
Yes you can! Simply open a chat window to talk to our TweetSwitch bot and type tweet, followed by your message.
- How can I DM somebody through my instant messenger?
To send a DM, type d, the Twitter name of your contact and then your message.
For example, if I want to send a DM to TweetSwitch, I would type d @TweetSwitch Hi guys, I really love TweetSwitch!
- Can I tweet from my email account?
Yes you can! Simply send an email to tweet@tweetswitch.com, with your tweet in the subject of the email.
- How can I DM somebody via email?
To send a DM, send an email to tweet@tweetswitch.com. In the subject of the email type the Twitter name of your contact followed by your message.
For example, if I want to email a DM to TweetSwitch, I would type tweet @TweetSwitch Hi guys, I really love TweetSwitch!
- Can I set filters so that I can control the tweets I receive?
Yes you can! You can decide how you receive your tweets based on Direct Messages, Mentions and searches. Lists will be coming soon.
Just log-in to our interface and configure how you want to receive messages.
- How do I stop receiving messages temporarily?
Simply send a message to our TweetSwitch bot with the word stop and you will stop receiving your messages until you resume the service. To resume the service type start.
- How often does TweetSwitch deliver me my tweets?
TweetSwitch currently checks and delivers your tweets every 2 minutes. TweetSwitch will soon check more frequently.
- What happens to my tweets if I'm not available on any of my accounts?
If TweetSwitch cannot deliver a tweet because you are offline, the tweet will not be sent. In order to see a list of past tweets, send a message to our TweetSwitch bot with the word list.
- I am not receiving any tweets, what can I do?
If you are not receiving any tweets, please make sure you appear online on your instant messenger. Please also ensure that your account is configured properly and added to one of the boxes. If the problem persists, please contact TweetSwitch.
- How do I unsubscribe?
TweetSwitch uses Twitter for authentication through the OAuth protocol. To remove yourself, simply go to http://twitter.com click on the "settings" tab, then click on "Connections" and revoke access for TweetSwitch. If you have a moment, please be kind enough to email support explaining the reasons for this choice.
